    Most Important Things..

FearFactory has posted an article at ZeroPing about a few tips & tricks in CS, I already knew almost all of them, but you should definitely check out the article to make sure you know them too as they are very useful. Here's a clip:
Often times I have entered a game and the sound just wasn’t on. Well I have developed an EXTREMLY easy fix for this! When you enter CS again, just hit esc, and then the resume game button and the sound will be back! The sound the button makes when you click resume game just somehow turns the sound back on. I’m not sure how it works exactly, but as long as it does, I’m not complaining!
You can check out the article here.

Here is exactly how you bind text in CS: bind p "say me EAT j00!"

          or bind q "say 0ink!"

this guy is a noob. the regaining your lost sound trick

                1. doesn't work with every sound card

                2. doesn't work unless you enter cstrike through a 3rd party starter like allseeingeye or gamespy.

something i didn't know is if you go into the controls and bind a button to "activate in game vgi" it gives you a menu that allows you to change your crosshair colors, change from right to left handed, and even has say_teams relevant to specific maps.

Well guys, just to give the article writer a bit of credit, AlltheWhile you are wrong on a couple of things. 1) That thing doesnt work on all sound cards, but it works on SoundBlaster (at least on the two I own), and soundblaster makes the majority of cards so it's safe to say it works for most people. 2) You dont need to connect through 3rd party starter for that to work, you just need to connect through console. Another thing, not sure if this was in the article or not, but if you need to alt-tab to windows, and you didn't connect to console, then just hit ESC to get back to the menu THEN alt-tab, when you come back to CS hit resume and voila! Sound!

you dont need to go into the vgui menu to change cross hair colors, bind x "adjust_crosshair" works fine.

                              Noobiest...article...ever.

Good game endorsing changing sounds to unsilenced weapons, thats fair gameplay.
