UK-Terrorist staffer, The Oracle, has written a heavily opinionated, virtually factless article about the upcoming CS 1.4 and CS:CZ. Here is the obligatory nibbel:

How many different cheats are still being used? All these cheaters running rampant while Valve employees (who are on the clock) toy around with 1.4. Messing with it while the community falls into ruin.

Maybe Oracle should be a writer for the National Inquirer.

I wouldn't thrash the single player concept, Rogue Spear / Rainbow Six did really well in the single and multiplayer market.



The reason behind CZ is simple really. The "updates" to CS are not free, Valve has staff that must be paid and that money must come from somewhere...CZ royalties.



As to the anti-cheats, I think the reason we haven't heard from Valve is they don't want to pull another TF2 and make themselves look like asses by promoting a release they can't possibly meet. Also, what exactly counts as Anti-Cheat news, I mean it's not like we could get screenshots of what Valve is doing, it will be done when it's done. In the meantime we can use programs like CS guard that work quite well.

I don't see how you can say an editorial is heavily opinioned. It's an editorial and it's not like you have used either product. What he did do wrong is learn how to read, because his 'facts' are totally off the wall.



The author, of course, doesn't realize that Valve isn't even making Condition Zero and that they are a pretty large company, now, in terms of workers. Thus, the main meat of your editorial, Orcale, is wrong.

What? Someone tell me what's wrong with saying the article is opinionated and factless. Its just that. Maybe you (edit DONT /edit) think its worth noting because it's obvious. Whoopty doo. I didnt want to waste a lot of time on the news post. If you want to flame me for 'attacking' The Oracle, feel free, waste all your time on me and ignore the fact that his artical was, just as rizzo pointed out, "off the wall" and "wrong."

I have been reading columns at UKT and I have been occasionally posting them for a while now. I feel that a person should not be bashed for 1 bad column every once and a while, for him and Antmoo post very good and well thought out columns.

now what kind of news poster would I be if I didnt read the column? If someone comes to CSN and sees a news post that simply says "so and so has posted an article about valve" that doesnt tell them too much. Some people prefer to read articles that are more facts than opinions, some people prefer articles that are more opinions than facts. My short review of the article was that it was of the "heavily opinionated" variety. Obviously many people take offense to that. Too bad for you.



If anything I have generated MORE interest in the article so maybe you should thank me. heh

Maybe if you dont like people pointing that out about your articles, next time you will write something with a little more truth to it to base your opinions on. If you want me to give you something to not respect me for, maybe next time I'll just delete your news submission. I planned on posting the news before I read your article, regardless of what style it was written in. And if it had a sufficient amount of truth or fact or revealing information in it, I would have said so. But after reading it, I realized it was mostly opinions based on... who knows what. So thats what I posted. I didnt say it was a shit article. I didnt say it wasnt worth reading. Thats up to the readers to decide and I know that there are people out there who will feel its worth reading. It isnt my opinion that the article is "heavily opinionated and virtually factless" so quit bitching at me for calling a duck a duck.
