poll: 1.4 jumping

We have a new poll for you to vote on. As most of you know, Counter-Strike 1.4 removed the ability to bunnyhop (jump over and over) by putting a short slow-down after each jump. It would be unfair for us to ignore the current debate going on, so this week's topic is do you look forward to CS 1.4's jump changes?

Seems many CS players are out of luck in the dating game. Perhaps we're all too busy with all the other ladies in the world to commit to just one.

I left the comments open for this one, folks. Personally, I'm going to wait and judge. When CS 1.4 is released we will all see how it affects the game. I do believe it will make the game much better, harking back to the days where people didn't completely abuse the ability to jump.

Well... since i lucky enough to beta test 1.4 cs i have to say this... Its lame... slows u down WAY too much after one jump. I like the idea but it should be if u take more than 4 jumps in a row or something like that it would slow u.

no i too am a beta tester and can tell u it sux... A) u guys r forgetting in 1.4 theyre making jumping accuracy less B) its not very fun to jump around a corner to find out there is 10 enemy t's rite there and because of this slowdown u cant move out of the way and get capped... also in 1.3 bunny hopping was greatly reduced... i myself being a former bunny hopper kno this... even when u fall off a lil box (not even jumping off it) it slows you down incredibly... awpers will rule the game... go here ppl and sign it if u dont want this to happen www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?63000a

cs needs improvement... not alteration of gameplay... the new spectating modes r awesome... teh new anti cheat system seems to b working... both of those r improvements... teh jump limiting thingy is an alteration of game play... which i dont want... and which almost 700 ppl dont want as they have signed at that petition... not to mention teh thousands who dont use irc who dont kno about teh petition to sign it... anywayz my point is... this new stamina type deal is not gonna settle well wit teh veterans of CS... go ahead keep teh stamina, but expect to find an even more newbfyd CS

I test 1.4, and it still allows one jump with virtually no affect, so you can still whip around corners, wait a few sex, and do it again.

fuck the jumping - if you aim for the head they will be dead - i will still sign the petition anyway cause i will miss my jumping deagle head shots.

at first i hated the jump thing. But i soon adapted to it.they should leave the new jump thing, because its difficult to jump around and it makes it more challenging and makes your wanna kill the guy before he kills your. It basicly shows your skills now.

Rapid jumping isn't what the game was meant to be about. You should be able to make the heroic leap around the corner but not a leap around the corner, over the crouched guy, over the box christ, sometimes I wonder if some played to much mario bros as a kid.



A limit to jump should force the game to be more strategic. I hardly jump at all and my game is solid, so there's not much reason to fret, just adjust your tactics to a less quake style of play.
