Those, uh, geeks over at GeekBoys knocked out version 1.0 of their popular demo-playing software, GeekPlay. Don't know what GeekPlay is? Here's the low-down:
GeekPlay is a demo utility for Half-Life. It lets you browse and watch client recorded (or HLTV recored) demos with ease. With a GUI you will be able to see the information about the demo before playing it. GeekPlay also offers customization to suit your needs and works with all Half-Life mods that uses the standard demo protocol.And here's what's new in this version:
* Automatically detects and reads in the resolution the demos are recorded in. At launch it changes viewers resolution to the resolution of the demo (this is to prevent the demo from being played in a incorrect way). After the demo is finished (or the user stops the application) the original resolution used, is set.Wow! You can snag this nifty application right over here!
* It detects:
- Half-Life version of the demo.
- Demo Type.
- Demo Version.
- Network Version.
- Map used in the demo.
- Mod the demo is recorded in.
- User resolution.
- Demo resolution.
* It displays a bitmap of the map used (if the image file exists).
Note: Maps can be added manually.
* Adds the ability to change the playback speed of the demo.
* Adds the ability to use a customized command line.
* Works with all Half-Life mods that uses the standard demo protocol.
