rEDibrek wrote..i noticed an increase in my ping from the move to cs1.3 (possibly due to the voice comm adition, possibly not)
Pfft, an HPB complaining about HL netcode? Be thankful they have this bullshit lag compensation joke built in for you guys.
however, pings have been steadily rising for us hpb's since beta5.2, so i wasn't really that shocked

well ..voice com is A good way to report in on others. Much easier sometimes..much more clearer instructions at times..
And on the other hand.. lol
one leader screaming..foul words..blabla thats the bad thing about it.
Voice com does improve team play..i agree..
and voice com sure can be funny at times :-)
That i got to agree...Comment

Voice comm is quite affective, but in net cafes there are no such luxuries. U either shout across the cafe ,stick to the radio or use the radar. Quite dumb sometimes when u are the only person using voice comm and no one else responds. So i rather stick to radio after years of heavy play, it is quite easy to bang out the radio comms anyway.
Stick to the radio or radar if u don't wanna look like a fool when screaming your lungs out into the voice comm.
By the way being a 1 man army is good sometimes. 4 tangos were fragged by me alone because they were too jittery or were on hair trigger. FF was on. I threw a flash and a smoke grenade. They panic too much and had their guns blazing hitting nothing except each other, while i calmly pick them off with my M4A1. With the silencer on of course.Comment

AfricaNative wrote..I think the the voice comm feature is great as I never have the time to find the right Radio message or to type a team message (I'm 33 years old and the reactions aren't what they used to be, so I have to concentrate extra hard! LOL). I don't use voice chat however because of the use of profanity (I don't appreciate it and I have 2 young children that I don't want exposed to it)! It is a shame that people think that anonymity gives them the right to use language that they normally wouldn't normally use in a public setting. Can we clean up the radio-waves for everyone's enjoyment?
P.S. I'm from South Africa if anyone is interested...Comment

Thx for some entertainment Gortic, nice to hear the real side of cs. If you would like to teamplay, join/make a clan. I would add a third, if you are top player on your side, you can get teamplay started. More players will listen to the top player, you become impromtu leader for maybe 3 in 20 people. Keep writing to Billy.Comment

For your information I don't allow my kids to play this game, but I enjoy playing it! Remember that it's just a game and meant to be enjoyed. How would you like it if a stranger came into your home using foul language! If you didn't get offended then there is something seriously wrong with you! How did your parents bring you up to hold good morals in such small regard? And I'm not telling you to do anything, but asking you to respect other peoples positions as well.Comment

Why use voice comm when it's possible to use RW or TS instead? That's what i meant, no serious clan uses voice comm, because the sound is bad, you have to press a key to talk and it lowers the other sounds in the game.
And TP on public, well, on the best servers i've played on (gamers.nu) none uses voice, and players from one of the best clans in the world (GoL) plays there, so let's face it, TP is something for pcw's and cw's, nothing for public.
On public, i often find the newbies screaming and whining for TP, however never the more experienced players, since they can manage without needing help from their tms.Comment
