Hey WTG everyone for that inspiringly mature profanity, name-calling, and unbridled ad-hominims. Come on guys, you can be more mature than that.



In a completely unrelated rant, in my humble opinion, real people are always more important than any computer game. In all of this there's always the exception of an obsessive/posessive person. Barring that, if CS causes you to neglect your significant other (be it a girl/boy friend or wife/husband) to the point that they get jealous, I'd say you've got your priorities a bit mixed up and YOU are creating the problem by playing too much. The specific amount of playing time doesn't matter, just that you're creating this tension in the relationship by saying that you value some silly game more than a person.



All I say is that keep in mind that all things come to pass, especially in the realm of comp/video games. For those who were around, remember how cool the original NES was? And then the Playstation came out and it was the thing to have. Doom came along and it was THE most amazing game ever, and Quake topped it as the best game ever made...Diablo 2 made a gigantic fuss, now its time in the limelight is passing.



I hate to break it to you all, but Counterstrike will be the SAME WAY! IT TOO WILL PASS INTO OBSCURITY! It's fun for awhile but not worth heart-and-soul devotion.



As for becomming a "pro" game, I would argue that both its trendy and temporary nature as a video game AND the fact that the pro scene is composed only of the few and the most highly skilled will not aid its longevity. When the trendiness of the game causes the pool of possible pro players (the general CS community) to disappear, there will be nobody left to turn pro and the pro scene as well will die out, ESPECIALLY when nobody is around who cares enough to pay attention.



If you want to grant such a temporary thing such great importance, especially if you'd forsake face-to-face, honest, real interaction with real people for it, then I'd say that's nothing short of foolish and it's time you stopped playing.

Holy shit its incredible how much moral teaching is being attempted here. I've never seen such a thing on CSN before. I honestly didnt expect this kind of reaction from the poll. It is interesting though. Apparently there are a lot of CS players out there who feel the need to teach the younger or more romanticly challenged members of the CS community how to be The Ladies Man.



Its true, a computer game should never be more important to you than someone you love. But on the same token, someone who loves you should allow you a certain amount of freedom to do what they know you enjoy. It's not too much to ask when you are allowing THEM that same freedom. If your significant other gets jealous that you play too much cs, well, how much of their time do they spend doing what THEY like to do?



Well, every relationship is different. I dont think that its necessary to get all worked up over the moral implications of this poll. If someone says their boy/girl-friend gets jealous of CS, they arent saying that they havent done anything to remedy it. They are merely saying that jealousy does or HAS existed.



I voted yes, but I also spend more time with my wife now than I used to. So are you going to call me foolish?
