But people who bought a ati card and got hl2 with it get cs s free, is what i heard in an interview with gabe, and why should we pay for a ported version of cs to the source engine when the game has been free since it started?, if cs were free do you think it would of got so popular? let you figure it out:) will have to pay for cs 2 but cs source seems a shambulls to me! im just listen to what gabe says in interviews:)

if u havnt realised by now, a second delay is equiv. to a 1000ms ping, and one tenth is 100ms.
I'm not exactly sure how long the registering delay is, but it's close to a second or so. As you can see, though, even tenths of a second in delay can make a huge difference.Comment

Exactly - there is also your CPU's throughput, which can be effectively killed by a shitload of background processes running via Windows. To help with any configuration problems, go to http://www.blackviper.com - he's got some sweet ass service information to help reduce the workload on your CPU so stuff happens faster.
Using his tweaks you should be able to get your number of active processes to 20 or below (depending on what AV and firewall stuff you run).Comment

processes matter little since windows gives prority to forground programs like CS, the background TSRs and services get very very little CPU time, maybe a few %, so background apps are really not an issue.

talking about priority....set CS priority to above-normal or higher (but i wouldnt recommend any higher at all) and u get mouse lag =D at least for 1.6, i havent tried for source

If you wanted CS standalone, you had to pay the same amount of money (that never made sense to me)
You were paying for the leet renamed guns. Nighthawk anyone?
actually youre paying for the source engine license. you really think valve would let you play CS for free on an engine they developed over a 5 year period? unless they dont care about profit, i highly doubt it.
whether its CS, HL, DOD, or anythingn that uses the source engine, be prepared to pay to use it.Comment
