While not CS related it's interesting to note that Even Balance Inc. has been contracted by Id Software to integrate Punkbuster technology into Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

We are working hard to get the integration code written and tested for an upcoming patch to the game. Based on preliminary work, we fully expect to be able to support and enhance all areas of the PunkBuster system and sustain only a brief beta period with RTCW. The PunkBuster software will still be a separate and optional addition but will be directly integrated with the game when it is enabled by players and server administrators.

I agree with rottencrotch .... Well said. And it's not that they wanna get rid of cheaters it's that they can't and most likely never will. So deal with it anti-cheaters suck anyways. And if you don't cheat but kick ass they call you a cheater and kick you anyways. So might as well get kicked and banned for a reason. I know that I cheat , but I also own.

PB wasn't too bad, prob was that it was an add on, should of been integrated into the actually program (IMHO) instead of a choice for server admins and users alike....that way it keeps more peeps honest...with the optional compliance then it becomes another hunt and find for the best PB server instead of not worrying about it....that and it becomes an admin nightmare to try and get everything playing nice with everything else.....make it easy for us stupid users....
