so what do you do in a beta anyway, is it just doing what they want you to, so that valve can test out if the hitbox issues are ok with players and such? if its some boring stuff like that, i dont really care if i missed out.

Beta testing(open beta's anyway) generally just mean playing the game and reporting bugs/oddities that you find. You usually don't have to do anything special, unless requested to(even then you don't HAVE to, but should). You get to try the game(patch) early, there really is no downside for the testers :P

Well don't worry as soon as the beat is released to testers it will bo on FTP's everywhere. THey may implicate a code ssytem but that will be cracked soon enough.

OK, i got an email from "Mona Lisa Guthrie" regarding this beta, i never signed up for any valve beta test yet i got this email, was it a hoax? i deleted it, thinking that it was a virus hoax. somebody let me know whats going on!!!

LoL no its not a haox, that is the email, like it was said "But we are anxious to hear about how the author of the e-mail was the subject of a famous painting." the famous painting was of course the mona lisa. SO its wsnt a hoax so i would be sad if i was you, maybe u can retrieve it.
