It appears Valve Software has begun it's beta testing with those who signed up in 2001.
Update by rizzuh: I don't know what's wrong with you guys, but you have some serious issues if you already want to get kicked out of the program. So far, five people have invalidated their agreement with Valve by forwarding the acceptance e-mail. Tip: Stop including sites you work at (planetcnc), your e-mail address, or your name (Lt Buck Futter). But we are anxious to hear about how the author of the e-mail was the subject of a famous painting.

Thank you for applying to be a Valve Beta Tester. This message is to inform you of a testing opportunity. Valve is currently developing technology for delivering content across the Internet. Testing will begin shortly and we need to confirm your interest in helping out. You will have access to current versions of Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Team Fortress, and Death Match Classic. As changes are made to these games during the beta period you will automatically receive the updates.
Members of this test program will have the opportunity to beta test Version 1.4 of Counter-Strike which includes new features and maps. This will be the only access to Version 1.4 made available before release.
