Xander = 12 year old that tries to immpress his friends how...what's the term? l337? I'm sorry, but I'm not a FUCKED UP lamer that uses terms that went out with the development of the English language. errr... h4x0rs? doubt it. Xander probably doesn't even understand C++...if he can hack, I DARE him to hack into something like www.yahoo.com or something like that. You know you can't hack, so stfu and turn off your computer...I think it's past your bedtime

exe files can be made using languages other than C++. I know making .dll files are made easy in Visual C++, well easier than normal.

SirLagsAlot, you seem to have your expressions mixed up:

hacked = changing a program to do what you want it to do. NOT to break into a server and vandalise. That's called cracking.

Who cares what is hacking and what is cheating.

The basis is all these proggies will be hacked and bypassed the hackers are smarter than the anti-cheat programmers.

You see ELYNDUIL knows whats up. And he is right the h4xors are smarter than the programmers. And some fool wants me to break into yahoo ...... hahahaha. No need to get mad I cheat/hack counter-strike to have fun to thats all and to own silly little fools Like SirLagsAlot= GetsOwnedAlot. And the difference between .dll and .exe heres a simple one you can run .exe files but you can't .dll files. there are other differences.

what if all you guys are proved wrong and this turns about to be a long term solution, if you ever read the cs.net forums they talk about this, and this is revelotionary.

Elynduil, you are completely wrong. anti-cheat programmers are indeed smart. But you see, there are a number of ways to impliment an anti-cheat program. What will it do? How will it work. Well, the more complex a program is, the more ways there are to exploit it. There are a large nubmer of things you can do to a program if you can get inside it. Dosen't mean the hackers are smarter, means they have to be resourceful and understanding of what they're doing.

dlls are dynamically linked libraries; they're used by exes.

So what? Were just supposed to saw screw it and let people cheat? It sounds like all of you who say "it'll be hacked who cares" are cheaters since anyone who doesn't cheat knows how unfun it is to play and exploited game.

PB hack was released within the first day of PB adding OGC Support..

Paladin took a day for some german site to show cheating and getting Auth'ed.

                          This... will be the same..

i dont think this one will be so easy to defeat. the myg0ts are bitchin over at their forums about how their hacks dont work with v0.7, and now 0.8 has been released. this is a big step forward, and as long as they continue to update it, it'll be the cheaters who now have to play catchup.

                              Uh.

They didn't defeat. He quit updating it because he got no support from valve :P(seems rather dumb on valve's part, he offered to do it for free even)

I don't get why these companies don't simply add this to the EULA and sue those who make such hacks. It's not very hard to find out who owns a domain etc.

I think CD is a pretty good idea so far, and seems to be working. The hacker's aren't very happy so far anyway :)

there goes my badly organized post, later

i'm not quite sure why valve didn't help Punkbuster at all. Look at all that's happened so far, cheating has never been worse. Not thanks to Valve, but they've made it worse.
