The goold ol' jolly hoppers at UKTerrorst are at it again, this time with scripting guides to cover the void of z_malloc overflow.
    • the first guide covers simple buy scripts, he takes you through setting up keys to buy various items so that you can be quicker off the blocks.

    • the second new guide covers the creation of in-game echo menus. again, king*duck takes you step by step through the process.

Overhead the albatros hangs motionless upon the air.

And deep beneath the rolling waves in labyrinths and coral caves.

The echo of a distant died comes rolling in across the sand...

Don't many people consider scripts a form of cheating?(I'm just curious, I'm not trying to start a huge debate or something) Do they allow them in tournament type things?

It depends on the tournment/league. It also depends on the type of script. Many leagues allow buy scripts, but not combat and movement scripts (ex. Burst-Fire and Crouch-Jump). So you would have to check the tournment/league rules. But no most don't consider scripts in general cheating. Some say that changing the cvar values to give you an unfair advantage is cheating. So it all depends on the script, and the situation.

Thanks for the reply. I used some buy scripts in the past, but decided to stop after a while. I was just wondering what the "official" position was.

Nice guides btw, I had often wondered why my scripts wouldn't close the menu :P

                Thanks.

If the menu's don't close, you need to add more waits to the closing alias. Like I said it's because of lag. Another thing you can do is bind 'slot10' to one of your movement keys. I have it bound to jump (bind "space" "+jump;slot10"). Now when I jump any open menus will be closed.

Buy scripts are darn great msot people can buy normally in a jiffy but buy scripts just speed thigns up even more and prevent athritis (pls note that is not absed on medical evidence and I or any scriptics cannot be held responsible if you do still develop athritis)

How do I even spell athritis? arthritis?
