ShackES' CPL article has stirred up quite the response over at Domain of Games. I think the ShackES article wasn't all that great. I mean, if you're going to cover E-Sports, you might want to focus on what the "big thing" is and not the freaking Bawlz stand. Here's a quote from the DoG article:
“Stuff like that can be interesting, but it isn't as good as constant action,” Matt added. Why is it not as good as continual action? If anything I propose that it’s better then continual action. TV requires one thing to make money, advertising. Continual action doesn’t provide TV stations the ability to place advertising. In Matt’s defense it’s very easy to point out faults in the current HLTV and spectator models for Counter-Strike because HLTV and announcers are brand new or non-existent. Viewing of matches at this point is at a very raw stage, which can only get better with experienced broadcasters and color commentary.I largely agree with what Midway @ DoG is saying. If anything, the prospect of watching Quake 3 or AvP2 is insane -- yeah they're fast, so fast you can't follow anything.
