Screw this thing, I think Valve needs to loosen their tongues a bit and tell us a bit about their "anti-cheat engine". Haven't heard a peep from them in frickin' decades. And wtf happened to TF2 (I personally think they shit their clothes and started over again when they saw Operation Flashpoint)? Damn.

Valve doesnt 'need' to loosen any tounges.

I trust Valve to quietly release the cheat-prevention when they have it working well. The quieter they are about it the better. We dont need to give cheaters and hackers a warning that something is on the way and give them the chance to prepare for it.

Many people just are under the impression that there are more cheaters out there than there really are and that cheating is a bigger problem than it really is. Paranoia goes a long way.

One of the workshops at the World Championships was with the makers of Counter-Strike and the changes they have in store for the game. The first question which was raised by the audience is what Valve/Gearbox is going to do to resolve the huge problem of cheating. While the team would not go into details - for fear of giving cheaters ammunition to defeat the fixes before they're even released - they did say that a new anti-cheating system would be put in place either just before or after the holidays. The new philosophy on dealing with cheaters is for the team to eliminate any hacks that come out just hours or a couple of days after their release, thereby making it a waste of time for cheaters to spend the time and effort to craft new hacks.

Also discussed were the changes that would be present in the upcoming Condition Zero. The team informed the audience that over 100 new models would be included providing a number of different types of camoflage, faces, and other details to give each character a unique look. This is in part due to improvements in the graphics engine, including a new Level of Detail system to maximize redraw speed while maintaining higher quality detailed models.

Future changes to the series which are being considered include more detail of real-time physics, such as bullet trajectory. For instance, shots would dip as they travelled further out as in the real world. However the main drawback to this is the bandwidth cost of sending that much data online between players. Any such changes won't appear in the current series, but may be implemented in Counter-Strike 2.

the speed hack is retarded. It lags like crasy even on a LAN. You can only use it in burst or you freeze up because of a flush entity packet. But, the speed hack is NOT detected by paladin, however it is not THAT big of deal. Just pray the fucker doesn't have a para, cause your ROF with this speed cheat is almost double. Its not as bad as it use to be though. But paladin effectivly stops all versions OGC with the way in which it launches HL. However only time will tell how well it will stop cheats in the future. But for now, play on paladin servers, seems to be pretty good for the time being.
