    Paladin Site Up

The Paladin Anti-Cheat site has finally appeared on the internet. Right now, their only real asset is viewing what their name means, but hopefully public downloads will appear soon.

Currently, the PunkBuster-replacement software is in closed testing, with a Linux port in the works.

I saw on a cheat site a few days ago that Paladin has already been broken, just like Cagara anticheat was. *sigh*

Paladin has not been cracked/hacked yet. The public client betatests has been in progress since monday, and the results are really good.

We will soon update the feature page, FAQ and more.

i like it, although i don't understand why the shells are missed matched, one is top to bottom, then bottom up, etc. Matching arm is always a plus, even though i can only play cs in pc bang.

The model looks good. The shells look good. Not really that weird to have them placed in an alternating pattern. Some might be shot, some might be slugs O_o. I'm glad that this is 1.6 compatible though. I've only got like three models that are. Yay for de@dme@t.

                        Not too good...........

To me it looks like the default model with bad hands and some shells slapped on.......

niiiiiiice....but "what's to lose?"...my fps....hey, since ive been obsessing over my fps lately since the 1.6 switch, i should probably just ask a noob question: do custom models really slow you down that much?

                          thanks nighthawk^

Blood_Shot, custom v_ models do the least to slow you down, since you're only looking at one hi-poly model at any given time. The p&w models (what you see in other players' hands and on the ground) however can start adding up if you have a crappy video card, since there's lots of them on the screen at the same time.

If you're already typically getting 70+ fps, then I really wouldn't worry about it. If you have a POS video card, however, then you might want to consider only installing the v_ model for these, as that'll have the least impact on your system. Give it a whirl, and if you don't like it, just delete it. The nice thing about CS1.6 is not having to worry about accidentally overwriting your defaults.

And yes, the arms contributed (though not totally) to this not making a 10.
