The CPL announced today that in an effort to add more spectator-friendly capabilities to Counter-Strike, Valve Software has agreed to incorporate some exciting new features to a special version of the game that will be used exclusively at the CPL World Championship in December.

This special version will add the capability to enter clan or team names, and these names will replace the previous general team designations. Furthermore, a few text strings and sound files will be changed to support the new clan name feature. These changes will not impact gameplay at all.



The CPL also announced that the following two models will be utilized exclusively at the World Championship tournament:



1. The defensive or CT model will be French GIGN

2. The offensive or T model will be Leet Krew



The World Championship Event, will be the world's largest computer game tournament. Hosted in a 55,000 sq/ft ballroom, it is expected to attract 2,000 gamers from 30 different countries. This massive event will take place at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas, from 1PM Wednesday, December 5 through 5PM Sunday, December 9, 2001.
