Shockingly enough, discussions are being made within the CPL to drop Q3A from Frag 5. Some reasons behind the change include the dwindling size of the Q3A community (estimated at 1/5 the size of CS) and the CPL's new focus on other titles besides those produced by id Software. For more information, read the Angel Q&A and this article about the decision.eSA: A lot of Quake 3 gamers feel that the CPL is being very ungrateful and callous towards the community by suddenly switching "loyalties" to Counter-Strike. Can you please respond to this?
Angel Munoz: We in fact believe that the Quake community also owes us a debt of gratitude for what we have done for them over the past 4 years. It is time to expand the league and we do it without regrets or second thoughts.
