The thing I'm talking about is actually removed from the RMF file that I sent cliffe a while. Ok, time to come clean(er).

This particular secret can only be found by looking at the collision hulls for the BSP. The actual brush in the source RMF is 1 pixel in width and depth, and about 24 pixels in height. And it's inbetween two crates.

Come on, why would there be a clip brush 24 units high next to a crate? And... which crate(s)?

Like I said, it isn't a huge deal, but NO ONE knows about it except me. It could be considered a cheat by that argument, but it really does not give you an advantage unless you're a really bad jumper.

I don't want to spoil anything by saying what the secret is. That'd be a complete waste :)

I know about someguy, who jumped on one of the crates near B1, and then suddenly he was in the crate. He had some pics of it, and he showed them a year back on the CS forums

That's not it. Looks like an engine bug to me (easy escape for mappers).

I would remove it, but it does no harm. A small fix like that isn't worthy of adding 0.5MB to the distribution size for an update. In fact, it's so minor that even if someone did stumble across it, they probably wouldn't even notice. It's that tiny.

It really isn't anything particularly amazing. Some people would only consider it a cheat because they don't use it. They can't - they don't know about it. And the chances are, in a situation where you might be able to use it to your advantage, you'll probably not gain anything (it's due to its placement and the conditions upon which it may be useful).

I just want to see if someone had found it. From the current outset, it looks like no one has. I don't want to say what it is because that'd waste all the effort!

No, Darkhorse, it's not that set of crates. Right side of the map though (in terms of CT/T divide).

See, you edit your post and now my one looks like it came out of the blue and I look egotistical. Tut tut.

Darkhorse appears to be right...I was going to say that you can walk on an invisible layer of ceiling above the map without falling off, but getting up there without using noclip seems impossible. So I guess the box jump is right.

I'd just like to categorically state that the jump into the sky - for skywalking - was nothing to do with me. Dust hasn't physically changed since 1.0 (maybe 1.1). The 'thing' I'm talking about is something else entirely.
