Those crazy GameSpy loons have done it again, today 3DAP posted a new CS Done Right article. Basically, it takes you through various scenarios and then two "friends" (nudge) judge if it's right, wrong, or in the middle. Here's an uninteresting tidbit.
It goes on like this. For six pages.It seems that no matter how I play CS these days, somebody bitches me out and tells me what I'm doing is wrong. If I use the AWP, I'm called a sniping whore and I'm told that "only fagot newbies use that gun." If, as a terrorist, I stick close to the hostages, I'm a camper; if, as a counter-terrorist, I smuggle the hostages out while avoiding the enemies, I'm a cheap lamer who doesn't know how to play the game right.
Frustrated by the lack of consensus on how to play Counter-Strike "properly," I've taken it upon myself to examine some of the more controversial CS tactics, explaining why each one is valid or inappropriate. Working with me on this article is Chris "cmcm" Ratliff, a long-time CS player and the fairest, most honourable person I know. His opinion on each point is below mine, in italics.
