FiringSquad has posted their First Impressions of Counter-Strike 1.0. Here's a tiddy bitty:

Yes, Counter-Strike is finally out of beta! For those of you who are uninitiated, Counter-Strike is a popular Half-Life Terrorist/Counter-Terrorist mod that has swept through the online gaming community over the past year. If you want to find out more about the game, check out our Counter-Strike Feature Calbear wrote a few months ago.

Even though Counter-Strike is coming out of beta, it doesn't mean you'll have to start paying for it. You'll always be able to download the mod free of charge. You will, however, now be able to buy Half-Life: Counter-Strike in stores in case you don't want to spend a week downloading the mod over modem.

CS 1.0 Impressions

True Gamer Network (Yes, they're REALLY gamers.) has posted their first impressions of Counter-Strike 1.0. Here's a small quote:

Graphically, it's the same as always, with some different textures in certain maps like office, and with COMPLETELY redone models, it gives the game a MUCH more realistic look. Apparently, some people think that the models run like 'ducks' now, but I disagree. I think they run very smoothly, and the way they hold their guns now gives them a much more imidating look. The terrorists, from what I saw, hold the gun lower, like a Die Hard kinda look, which got me excited, cause I love Die Hard!
