NextWish has spammed me with this in #counterstrike (and #CSN, the number one place to meet with CS-Nation staff!). I'll let him explain it, since I'm listening to the Weezer smash hit.
There's also a substitute to this, other than downloading the 3.5 mb file. Simply copy the vip.mdl 6 times each time with the names "barney.mdl, gman.mdl, gordon.mdl, hgrunt.mdl, recon.mdl, robo.mdl and zombie.mdl". So you should have 6 copies of the original vip.mdl, just with different names. Neat.
This info can be found on http://www.nextwish.org/ and the files are downloadable from Australia or USA.Yup, it's a content update, Whilst browing the CS.NET forums I stumbled upon a fix that would prevent lamers from crashing your computer whilst you play counter-strike. The fix, was only instructions and you had to do alot of things to get it working. So I set out to make a downloadable version, in which all you need to do is just extract it!
The crash, I'm talking about is the one where people change their models to half-life deathmatch models in game and it would cuase people to crash. This fix works by replacing the hldm models with the CS VIP model. Whilst this does have the sideeffect that if play HLDM, you will see VIP models. IMHO it's well worth it as it prevents people from crashing you.
