The Forge has cranked over a review of Counter-Life, the Counter-Strike single player mod for Half-Life. Basically, it's Half-Life single player with CS weapons. Here's a slice:
Get your groove on with Counter-Life right here.For example there was no real sniper rifle among the weapons in Half-Life. (I know the crossbow could serve as one but it sucked). When fighting large groups of enemies it was easy to get overwhelmed. The game lost some of its strategic aspect when all you were doing is trying to survive against large numbers of enemies. In Counter-Life you can use the sniper rifle to clear out some of the enemies before you go in. It is especially useful when you are fighting against the black ops troops, which are next to impossible to fight with the standard weapons in the game.
