B7 Review
My old pal, Cheesebury, over at action nation has slapped up a *gasp* review of beta 7. Here's a tidbit!
The review isn't the most positive, but he's being honest, so go read it!As I cast my eye back a year, one month and one day to July 30th 1999 I remember fondly my pitiful attempts at my first CS review. A mere 6 beta’s later and look where we’ve got too a group of foul mouthed newbies motoring around like mad men over jumps and bombing toilets. How time’s change.
I would go through everything that’s changed since those heady days of 1999 but that would take far far too long, I’ll save that for another feature :) For now lets just take a look at what’s been updated from the previous beta. -
B7 Review
TFortress2.de (a German site) has written up a BETA 7 review.
I disagreed with the review for the most part, it seemed the reviewer didn't notice the possibilities of having dual Berettas as your secondary weapon. My only gripe about BETA 7 is the MP5 and the rifles, their accuracy seems to have changed dramatically and bursting is "old news".OK, i want to tell a bit more about the dual berrettas. They are biggest change to the weapons, but are they goo ? I say "no". They cost almost as much as an mp5, but they are much worse. With 30 shots in both magazins you can do quite much, but IF they are empty, you should put your ass away from the enemy for a "short time". Although it was very nice animatede, the reloading with the berrettas is more then only reloading. It takes VERY much time to have your weapons to shoot again, and in this time many things can happen. Sometime too many.
About the new SEAL model. I think it's a great piece of work, but back in the day (beta 6.8), the CT's were all in a shade of gray, and that's how a lot of people recognized them. Terrorists were mostly different colors, not fitting in any particular theme. Now.. it's hard to tell if that thing 200 yards away from me is the green SEAL or an Arctic Avenger. Next!Comment

B7 Review
Apus Hardware has reviewed Counter-Strike BETA 7. Here's a blurb:
Go there! Sadly, their site seems to be down. On that note, I'm very sorry about the down time here, this will not be an issue very soon.Of course the first map I loaded was the famed JeepAthlon2k. Gooseman (the Counter-Strike head programmer) began work on the driving code about one week prior to B7's release. He decided to include the driving code for testing purposes only, so it's not fair to rate it as part of the release. I have to say, driving is fun! Basically it uses the same style of driving from de_train, but applies it in all directions. Of course, it still needs a lot of work, but it's something to look forward to in the next beta.Comment
