Illuzi0n sent in a cool mIRC script which launches a game from right inside mIRC. Goodbye GameSpy! Here's some current features and planned ones:
To setup extract to your mirc directory, load up mIRC, and go to Tools -> Remote... -> File -> Load -> Script -> all files -> gamelaunch.mrc
On a side note, this works great with GameSpy2mIRC, so no worries.
You can get it here, on a local mirror.* Features in v.5
- Easy to use dialog GUI interface for connecting to a Half-Life: Counter-Strike server.
- Quick game launching via the command line /gamelaunch.connect [port] [ip]
- Last 10 servers are saved in history. (easy access via popups or in the GUI under the preset menu)
- Preset servers in 2 popular gaming clusters accessable through menu's. (please email me webpage URLs of other popular gaming clusters so I can add them)
- Gamespy2mirc support. Launch a game with Half-Life Game-Launch and it will pick up the game with the correct info just like it would if you were launching it from Gamespy.
* Planned Features
- GUI for Setup.
- Support for ALL Half-Life mods.
- Better History (servers with descs., more than 10 saved.)
- Editable preset server list read from an ini file.
- An option to invite other Game-Launch users to the game you are joining. (you send the invition and they can press F10, or another key, to join that game)
- All suggestions are welcome! (acooper@primary.net)
