CS Review
Oooo, I'm still shocked over this whole "CS v1.0" thing.. but meanwhile, Converted2.com has a review of Counter-Strike BETA 7.
It should be noted Deus Ex's storyline is about conspiracies and nano-technology (which we have in our lives already, right?), oh and don't forget the fact that Deus Ex does not have multiplayer capabilities and this review contradicts itself to a newer level. In other news I am watching Mission: Makeover.Yes, the "C" word again. Campers have adopted CS as their new home, to the point where finding a decent server amongst the innumerable mass proves near impossible. The power and ease of use of the sniper rifles (in particular the all-powerful Arctic Warfare magnum) can completely unbalance the game. These guys could learn a lot from Deus Ex's superb and highly realistic sniper weapons (small scope picture, unstable sight picture that gets even shakier when zooming). It's also a bit strange to find a FN M249 Para heavy machine gun in a realism-based counter-terrorist mod, as it doesn't seem like the standard choice for a hostage rescue/ bomb defusing/VIP protection mission. I'm afraid realism takes a back seat with these big boys in action. -

The good folks over at Mod-Scene have added a Counter-Strike review to their site, along with a host of other reviews of mods. Here's a snippet:
Read the rest of the review over at Mod-Scene.The latest release(s) of Counter-Strike has again improved the mod, preparing it for its commercial release in the coming months. Touted as the best gaming experience out there by hundreds of thousands of players, some have been disappointed by Beta 7's additions and changes, but I find the newest release has done the mod justice.Comment

Gamingnews.net, an online game content site, has slapped up a review of Counter-Strike v1.1.
Be warned, it seemed some of the html code on the page was corrupted :IYou're are the Counter-Terrorist. You and your team of elite coverts decide to go over the bridge, and make a direct hit on the Terrorists from inside the garage all the way across your map. As you tell your teammates that you will be a sniper with cover fire, you get a "Roger that!" and a "Affirmative." This is just the beginning of a very complex and simple teamplay game that joins every aspect of any tac-ops shooter you have ever seen.Comment

The very French site, HL Expert.com, has reviewed Counter-Strike 1.3. Yes, it's in French! It's quite short, and mostly quotes from the changelist, but it may be worth a read if you know the language. CS 1.3 ends up scoring 4 and 1/2 stars.
Oh, and I'd like to thank all these damned news posters. I'm glad I don't have to carry all the news, thanks for helping little old me out (def, gork, real, d0nk)!Comment
