Whew!The Online Gamers Association announces the launch of the PC Gamer
Counter-Strike Championships.
The Online Gamers Association today launched the PC Gamer Counter-Strike Championships, co-run by the OGA, WON.net UK, and PC Gamer magazine.
PC Gamer and the OGA have already brought you the UK's biggest pro-gaming event so far in the form of the PC Gamer Unreal Tournament Championships, and now it is time for us to turn our attentions to Counter-Strike. A free user-made add-on for Half-Life, Counter-Strike has quickly become the most popular first person shooter on the net.
The Counter-Strike Championships will take the form of an online league played out over two months, with dozens of copies of Tribes 2 and Team Fortress 2 as prizes for the winning teams. The event is open to both veteran Counter-Strike clans and newcomers to the game, with space for 64 clans to take part.
