Interesting enough, someone's working on a bot version of CS, aptly named CS Bots. And David G. over at 3DAction CS has thrown together an interview with Atomizer, the leader behind the project. Have a look-see:
Q. when the bots will be released, will they use all weapons/items, and will the use the the gameplay? Like planting bombs, rescuing hostages?Catch the whole thing right here.
A. Ok, since most of the weapons operate the same, they will be able to use all weapons acceptably(ie, if they have the sniper rifle and they are too close to an enemy, they will most likely switch to a handgun), as for the items, they will buy kevlar when they can, and they wont really need night vision for the first version. As for the gameplay modes, in the first version, the only supported gameplay mode will be resquing the hostages. I havent forgotten about the grenades either, at the moment, both grenades are working fully, all I have to do is get the bots to use them correctly.
