    Sometimes software has bugs.
of course, but what im saying that is it really beyond the valve team to fix such a small oversight?

Thanks for announcing you've never seen any type of code before in your life.
you dont profile people very well do u...

ive seen a lot of code, and im not talking about HTML or PHP either mate. (lol).

ive programmed in C, assembler, VHDL, PSpice. etc..

are you telling me you know for a fact that it is very difficult to fix that radar?

every time valve's PR or marketing dept. talks to the community they say: 'hey, we're all gamers here at valve, we want to create an amazing gaming experience yadda yadda yadda....[more marketing talk]'. well if they are all gamers? why havnt they noticed this bug in the first place? fact is, we will never know...the people who might are the ones who program all the cheat hooking tools who will know how alpha test sprites are overlayed on the screen.

Pharlap, what's wrong with your connection
? nothing, its 10mbps of pure power....

my editing is a bit crap, seeing as i have never seen a piece of code in my entire life, lots of letters and indentations make me confused.

Agreed. What, it took 2 years to fix this?!? What a joke. It was the same things with cheats. What speaks volumes to Valve company execs is business model, not 15 year olds whining about something dumb.

the crosshair never dissappears? so why should the radar. its not THAT hard to fix.
So why didn't you fix it then, asshole.

temper temper, shouldnt you be setting an example?

well, if u put that brain of yours to work, you might realise i dont work for valve, if i did, i wouldve fixed it. how often does valve listen to the community? not often.

Considering up until this moment they didn't know what CAUSED it, I very much doubt you, having no experience with the Half-Life / Counter-Strike code, could fix it.

If you had paid any attention to this news post, you'd see that that this bug was fixed only BECAUSE valve listened to the CS community and asked someone to consistently reproduce the bug.

In short, thanks Valve! Pipe down, Pharlap.

did cliffe and g00se work for Valve? No? I guess they shouldn't have made counter-strike then eh...

If you managed to code CS so that it would never have the radar bug, believe me, Valve would listen to you. You didn't even ATTEMPT to do it though.

I don't really need to post my comment again because its right there for all of you people (narby, KhAoS, steakeater) to read. Valve only worries about what the CS community wants when they have nothing better to do. OGC raped you for half a year before they even bothered to admit it was a problem... and even then they could have solved it immediately by incorporating CD, but they didn't... because they were busy thinking about Steam and their... (say it with me now) business model

Last I checked, the purpose of a corporation was to make money. Valve isn't out to be some warm-and-fuzzy entity that's looking out for its users' concerns unless it will increase their profits. That's the point.

This has now progressed into absolute stupidity. Rock.

Pharlap may be a punter, but i don't recall CS or HL being an open source project where users can just dive in and fix shit.
