its times like these that a saved windows partition > all linux
They're not often
They're not often
BoNeLeSS wrote..It isn't really. If they were supporting it properly, linux would have native files to run instead of a wrapper like winex. Think UT and UT2003. It is perfectly capable to port these, using winex only has the benifit of emulating directx. OpenGL is native in linux, and it is in most OSes. Its understandable that a linux version wasn't released, its a niche market. Perhaps if they maybe released binaries for those who want them online, instead of totally releasing a new linux version a-la quake 3. Oh well, ill shut up now.
Heh... VALVe is so nice, supporting an unsupported platform

Shit, im spending waaaay too much time at the forums so i cant do comments anymore. Too bad you all cant do the same. Well, the non-nationalists cant do the same.
Maj.Death wrote..Look at related stories. There have been lots of VAC updates, at least once a week in the last while. Thats not slow in my book. I think Valve is doing a good job, it must be a nuisence to keep VAC up, but they do it. Praise be to them.

valve is too slow
but what ever helps
MikeJ wrote..No your right, WineX is 'made for gamers' and I believe WineX is not freeware anymore either. Grr. (If it ever was?)
i don't know much on that but my guess would be wine doesn't allow you to run openGL/direct x windows applications and wineX does. just a straight up uneducated pulled from my ass guess.
Alienmorph wrote..Gnome is a GUI, I thought? Along with any Linux distro there are like 4 different GUIs and more you can get :P Wine is just a windows Emulator
What the heck is the difference between gnome and wine and all the others anyways? So confused -_-
Proving Linux geeks will never get away from the reaches of Windows! Mwa Ha ha!
