As for Sinacs mindless post, I never stated it was. I was just saying it was a stupid tv show drummed up by idiot tv execs as an attempt to draw viewers.

      So once again..yes.. I R WIN.

Although I must say people are quick to flame others.

I wonder, do people prowl the forum in hopes to exact a witty remark to make themselves sound "cool"?

Lets stop this cs on cs violence.

We're all idiots. Let's charge at each other, heads-down, at full speed, and see who still stands. It's kind of like rams. That would be an extremely violent death-sport, more so if the crowd could kill the victor. So I guess no one really "wins" in this situation.

Ohhhhhh, a whole... 6 million users in 4 years. Sorry, but thats sad seeing that Starcraft has about 7+ million unique playing per year on B.net, but then again, VALVe is just a D rated company when compared to TRUE game developers like Blizzard, Westwood, Microsoft, and such.

Microsoft? What has Microsoft developed? And what does Westwood have to brag about?

Hey lopinboy, I think you're way out of your league classifying Valve as a D rated company next to Blizzard, Westwood, Microsoft, etc. Let's take a look at some hard evidence. I'm currently looking at the 100th issue of PC Gamer (August 2002). Inside they list the Top 10 Highest Rated Games in PC Gamer history. Half-Life is in 2nd place with a 97% rating, not bad seeing as how it was Valve's first release. Blizzard is the only other developer that you mentioned on the list, with Warcraft II tying for last place (impressive, no?). Uh oh, I've just noticed that Sierra, the publishing company for Half-Life, has another game on the list, Gabriel Knight II.

                        In summary, IN YOUR FACE!

                        I win.

Y'know, the new release of Day of Defeat is pretty damn good - I couldn't stand the previous versions, but I've been playing it and ENJOYING it over the past few days.

If you're bored of CS, go on, give it a go and download all 110Mb or so of it. It really is worth it - it could potentially have held CS's crown if it were released a year earlier (not that I'm saying it's dated...)

When we Steam testers got a DoD b2 sneak-peek, it managed to steal quite a bit of my time from CS 1.4. I swore it would be a potential "CS-killer" then -- it took me about two weeks to be bored silly and go back to CS. I haven't tried b3 yet, but by all accounts it certainly might be a contender.

I've always smirked at folks proclaiming "the end of CS", but I do feel a subtle downswing (at least, until 1.6/CZ, whenever that'll be). I do disagree with many when I say that retail may well have given it more life than it would have otherwise had.

Sikki, to bad every game Blizzard creates has records. Also, HL won because there were no other FPS released in 1998. VALVe is not the brightest of companies, otherwise they would have released a new game of it own creation instead of buying off one and nerfing it to hell. Also, if it wasn't for Quake2's engine, VALVe wouldn't have been able to make the game, so ppl need to stop saying "HL engine" and say something like "Quake2 Modded Engine" or so.

Lastly, from my readings, I've noticed that every game Blizzard creates is rated lower than expected because they expected MORE, unlike VALVe would they expected very little. In 1998, when HL came out, I got it THAT day thinking "Man, this game might own." and it straight up sucked, so I let my friends borrow it and see if they wanted it, same result, they thought it sucked. The only game VALVe has that makes HL worth anything is CS and the other mods. HL lives off mods, not something to be proud of.

I'm sorry if you can't except my views toward that company you believe is good, but everyone knows that without CS, VALVe has nothing. 6million users in the past 4 yrs compared to 6 million in 3 months.

Whops, forgot, SC is still one of the top 10 sellers per year. :)
