Steam Updates

VALVe brings two releases to the table today. First Steam has been updated to Platform 15 to address some of issues with Steam not starting up correctly. Also, Alfred has finished up work on a new *nix beta that brings it to version two. If only Counter-Strike releases were every two days to fix the bugs.[break="*nix changelog"]

• fixed freebsd using nis failing to find a users home directory.
  
  
• added extra debug output on certain filesystem errors.

Well, at least when I started up Steam this last time, instead of disappearing and simply loading the thread, it actually popped up the update window and proceeded to download platform 15.



Of course, after that, it just disappeared like it was doing before, so nothing has really changed as far as the start up bugs, for me anyway.

It will probably take a long time before most of the bugs are gone. But I think that CS 1.6 will work propertly when winter comes.

Thats happened to me a lot. But lately, it seems to be working...for now that is.... andyway just keep trying to reboot your computer. You just might get lucky. Hope tat might help!

End the steam process tree every time it does that and then start steam up again...it usually works if you do that (for me at least).
