LAN is TOTALLY different than online. I remember going to a LAN with my OWN computer and it took my about 5 hours to get used to the desk alone. Now for these major tournaments they have to get used to different everything; computers, desks, chairs, all that good stuff. It is really hard to produce good scores on LAN when you dont have alot of time to get used to things.

That's why 3D is able too. And NetZone. And every other top clan, except for them.



sf and aoX have yet to prove themselves on LAN, and we already know zEx sucks on it. By sucks I mean in comparison to their ability to go to CAL-I Championships online, but not make it to the WCG USA Final match, losing to a team who is in CAL-M.



It's not just zEx who goes through that, all the other clans go through it too. Unless every member of zEx has been diagnosed with Severe Anxiety disorder, I don't really think that can be used as an excuse.

slappy has a point. A lot of friends of mine play CS and I've tried playing on their computers, and it's not even close to easy. People have varying preferences.



I wouldn't jump to conclusions, SinaC, especially on a site like this. I would change that post.

Some people claim that Johnny R is worse on LAN than online because he "interp hax." Frankly he pulls a lot more amazing stuff online but would you accuse him of hacking?



I can't concentrate well at a large LAN center. I play much better when I'm familiar with my surroundings. Like my own stuff, my own room, this picture of rizzuh's cat I have next to my desk.....

3vi1, a few years ago the people I played CS with, pubs or not, usually said "ns" or "good one" if they were killed by a shot that seemed impossible. Back then, people accepted that others were good or, if they didn't, just insulted them. You see, there is this thing called skill. Some people who play CS have it. Now, stay with me here, some of these people meet one another and form clans...which....wait for it...are good. Now, I realize someone as intoxicated as yourself might not realize this, but just because some clans are really good doesn't mean they hack. I realize the CS played back then isn't the same CS played now, but really, do we have to be jealous of people in good clans? Of course not. Don't get worked up about these things, and the next time you get head-shotted from across the map say "Nice shot", they might even respond with a "Thanks".

good point spike the cs community would be alot better if nobody got jealous but thats only human nature.

CS is and always will be plagued from the old days of when you would find a hacker or two in alot of servers. Now hacks are pretty much gone. Now i do not play anymore but when i quit i had not seen a single hacker in 1.5 and i believe i only saw 1 or 2 in 1.4. I agree with Exo. I tried playing on my friends computers but it just was not happening to well. Basically, zEx is not the best on lan but they did beat rival and eminence at WCG, both incredibly strong teams. Sinac im fairly disappointed that a CSN news poster would jump to quick conclusions like that. Keep up the other good work.

I like when the news item is opinionated like this one, causes some good controversy, like when rizzuh called 'Infinity eSports' laughable. Better news imho.

No it did not have anything to do with 'colt'. I believe it had Magnum in it. He posted frequently awhile back. I'll go see if rizzuh coded any fansy search tools.



edit: Anschutz .22 Magnum is the guy. Anyone know whatever happened to him. He was good at starting controversy that actually had some critical thinking to it. (hence NOT mouth)

Why do hackers have to share the same name as cheaters, I dont wanna sound like pedantic asshole but 'hacker' isnt really a good way to describe someone who puts a dll in their half life folder

Hacker = Informal. To alter (a computer program)

CHeater = To deceive by trickery; swindle: cheated customers by overcharging them for purchases.

lan is very hard for me. im not exactly the leetest cs player but when i lan at a large place with lots of people i just cant concentrate for some reason. just my 2 cents. also i have a question. if you have a demo of someone who is using ogc, can you tell ie. you can see people thru the walls?

No, a demo is not a video file. It is a text file that tells the game what to do. Therefore you see your models and your settings. If you see walls while in-game, then every demo you can find will have solid walls in it.
