ModelVU Version 0.5

A new Half-Life Model Viewer called ModelVU has been released by The Syntax Network. ModelVU allows for game developers/programmers to view 3D models. Although it only currently supports Half-Life, future releases of ModelVU plan to allow viewing of models for different games. ModelVU is in constant development, so look forward to constant improvements in the future. Click here to download ModelVU Version 0.5.

Honestly, it sucks.



Yeah, I know it's not finished yet or anything, but there's no real purpose in releasing a model viewer that isn't even a shadow of what the already free HLMV is. If they come up with a version that's just as good as HLMV, plus some new features or better interface, then it's worth releasing, and I'll take a look at it again. As it is, I'm off to uninstall this.



Bummer... I was really hoping for some cool new functionality or something.

I dunno, it doesn't really have the feel of something new... It's more like a reskin of the default para... I give it a 7 because it's has a "nice" feel to it... As I said before, I dunno...

Ugly, plus it looks like 90% of the other Para models.

Its not that bad. The lighting is odd on it though. I don't really like how the bi-pod is deployed when your carrying it. The skin is fairly bland but it would look a lot better with a new light source. Needs more light. The bullets are an old design that needs to be scraped. You cant tell the bullet from the jacket. Don't like that. I might hack the bi-pod off and fix the skin and use it since there isn't any paras out there that are very cool..I quite like the model of it, its just the skin that doesn't do it justice. I like it though.

I love this, but i like the firearms one better. i just wish someone would make it on cz arms, so i have model consistency and not those horrible cz defaults (i hate the dirtied look of them, looks poorly done)

Not great, but not terrible either. The model is good, but the skin is kinda lacking, it's very plain. And the bullets do look like crap. It's got a nice feel to it though. I like the ideas behind everything, it just could have been better. Oh, and exwhyze, check out the Para from the CS realism pack. It's like a way prettier version of the default (same style and color scheme) on CZ arms.
