Team 3D Wins WCG US Finals

The WorldCyberGames (WCG) US Qualifier Finals were held this weekend at web2zone in New York City. Teams showing up to give their shot at representing the US in Korea's premier gaming tournament included [3D], [W.E.W], [rs], nV, vbn, |zEx|, [e--], F^, |NUDE|, and Rival.



You want more...?[break="going to have to click through!"]With an exciting 2 group setup, the tournament provided a lot of thrills complete with close matches, upsets, and a whole lot of adrenaline. The winner of this tournament goes on to Korea to compete in the WorldCyberGames as the team representing the USA.



That team... [3D].



The final match included [3D] (Desire, Discipline, and Dedication) against F^ (Forsaken, aka Team NetZone) in a classic finals bout on de_nuke. [3D] went undefeated throughout the tournament and secured the win over the team that overcame nearly the entire looser's bracket, Forsaken.



The score in the final match was 3D: 13, F^: 7

3D 8-0 @ CT

In very related news, Infinity-eSports beat out clan ONE and won the UK WCG qualifier. A week and change ago, A-laget beat out the best in Sweden at their country's WCG qualifier. A-laget translates to A-Team.

I think that Forsaken (NetZone) really proved themselves to be a top LAN clan, and I think they'll be a top online clan too. Espacially with Funk's cfg cheatZ.



They're currently competing in UGS-i, but not in CAL. I don't think they even tried to get in, because they'd have to suffer through main or im.

Was at the event, not many people show up. There were 2 many tech. difficulties during plays, forcing the match to stop.

what variables are changed in cfg cheats? and what are the effects? It can't be too big a difference if they are just available to change right in ur config files (aside from anti-recoil). I read peachy's column on sogamed which mentioned the same thing.

It's much more of a paranoia than the actual effects. What valve said about the ex_ stuff proves that maxerror, correct, and that other thing don't do much. interp when set to a really low value can have devastating effects, however. You can hit people behind walls that they run by. It warps them back there.



I just made that comment because of Funk's past.
