HomeLAN Fed has had the pleasure of interviewing the CPL's founder, Angel Munoz. They were also nice enough to post it on their site, so all us mortals could read it.

HomeLAN - What is the CPL's current policy concerning the age limit for playing "M" rated games at CPL tournaments and are you statified with that policy?



Angel Munoz - Our current policy is that participants must be at least 17 years of age to participate in a CPL tournament. Participants who are 16 years of age by the first day of the CPL event are also allowed tournament participation, but must provide a signed consent agreement from a parent or legal guardian to enter a CPL tournament. Commencing in 2003 the 16 year old exemption will be finally dropped, less than 5% of our current tournament participants are 16 years of age.



The Cyberathlete Amateur League (www.caleague.com) has more flexible age policy and will maintain that flexibility for a few more years.

I'm very unhappy about the age restrictions changes. I guess I won't be able to compete in the CPL for 2 more years! I don't think that CAL's age restrictions will matter, every one who is underage will just input a fake name/age. I'm sure many people do it already. HomeLAN - How did the Aliens vs Predator 2 tournament come about?

Angel Munoz - About four months ago in a meeting in Dallas with Fox Interactive, we discussed the possibility of joining forces to orchestrate a fun tournament with AvP2. At first the team was a bit skeptical, but the more they played the early betas the more they liked it.

Dont know about you but I learnt nothing at university that I didnt know already (ccould have dun with a tyoin course tho;p) but I agree with your comment, yet we see football kids ebing signe dfor millions (Soccer to you yanks) and no one complains about tyhat, At last with online gmaing the kid might get into programming or some computer related job. Football you have foru or five years and then you fuck up your knee and your out of it. So I dont think Cyber gaming is detrimental to kids health, it is probably detrimental. I mena look at Sinac, iof he really is sub 15 then the guy has an intellect and a healthy interest whihc will stand him in good stead for the future. Hell he coudl be the next Bill gates (uch) but essentially Im sayin.. Its only a game, but a tlöeast one with some plus poiints.
