Here's another s0phiZtry's Corner, which I decided deserved it's own newspost. Part of the reasoning is because I posted results on the same page as predictions, which are waaaay down there. Underneath plenty of posts by our newest staff members, DrMagus and Ritchey007. They're doing a great job, aren't they? Anyway, here's s0phiZtry's Corner for you.[break="s0phiZtry's Corner"]Top 5 Performances of the night
1. zEx (10-1-0): 6th time is a charm, zEx's record vs 3D is 0-5-1 (0-7-1 if you want to count X3, and TSO Loss at CPL) with the one tie during last season, and various loses from the RGL-Expert finals to the CAL-Invite finals. The only clan to beat zEx so far this season is tec, who came out on top 13-11. A few other clans have come close to beating zEx with 11-13 losses. With this being 3D's 2nd straight lose, does America have faith in their #1 team in the nation? 3D won the WCG U.S. Finals and has a trip to Korea for the World Finals. With the way 3D is playing at the moment im sad to say I don't think U.S. will have our name engraved on the 1st place trophy. So who is the best team in the U.S.?
2. DoP (7-4-0): This is the match i chose to watch for the 8:30PM CST time slot and it turned out to be a great match. Last night DoP ended tec's 8 game win streak, but tec didn't look as strong as they have in past weeks. DoP won both pistol rounds, and this what they needed to do in order to win. DoP's addition of destrukt really helped in this match, even though he really didn't play as well as original or tRiGGa, who were on top each half. DoP only won CT side 7-5, but they came back and buckled down and took T side 7-5. If DoP hadn't lost to sf earlier in the season they would be the division title holders but since sf has the same wins they get it from head to head competition, at the end of the season i predict DoP will work it's way to the top.
3. Rival (11-0-0): Rival just proved tonight why they are the best in the west. Tonight they extended their undefeated record, they sit atop a 11 game win streak. Rival won T side 9-3, then on ct they started off winning the pistol round and the next 2 but would lose 3 in a row to make the game 3-3 then finally closed out the match in the 7th round. So far this season Rival hasn't had very many challenges besides W.E.W and DoP. In the next few weeks their schedule doesn't get harder, they get to play a slumping 3D team.
4. Riot-Squad (6-4-1): I expected Riot-Squad to beat The Select-Few but not by the raping that they gave them tonight. This is sf's 3rd lose in 4 games. sf started out the season 6-1, their only lose was a close 11-13 game with zEx, but now they seem to be in a slump. I find it interesting that this is the same way Eminence started off their season with grasle and Jaden. Eminence dominated clans by alot and were just simply overpowering them, Eminence slowly lost their edge over time, resulting in grasle and Jaden leaving the clan. Will Riot-Squad lose their edge that they have right now? Only time will tell.
5. Eminence (6-4-1): After Eminence's horrible play due of the loss of Jaden and grasle, this tie with aoX might be a turning point to get them rejuiced for playoffs. aoX the only clan to forfeit in the finals for any league, but have had a great season so far with 9 wins and 1 loss coming from zEx. They probably came into this match thinking Eminence would be an easy ride considering they lost to fu 18-6, but Eminence showed them they are still in it and tied the game at 15-15.
Another interesting turn out tonight, Ipx the team that defeated 3D last week, lost to NEG 15-9. This puts NEG's win streak at 8 for the season, and puts them 2nd place in their division, underneath the undefeated Rival. Right now they probably don't have a chance at winning the Theta division, but they will be one of the top ranked wild cards if they continue to play well.
