yeah I'm a webmaster, we get lazy easily and just throw *intended* dates on things rather then letting the news sit on our hard drive.
I saw this late last night, I was going to post it here but couldnt get on to the site. I thought it was funny that VALVe dated that post October 31st, yet I read it on the 29th.Comment

Eh, just about everything there was added in 1.4, or was proposed in the 1.4 beta. I'm not sure who came up with that list, but it's rather old news. I recall seeing a thing about the hostages coming with you automatically before, but this never got implemented.
I would guess that you can still "use" the hostages, but in normal situations they'll stay with the guy who ran by them first, not just whoever happens to be near. That guy gets shot, then maybe they'll follow the next guy. Not for sure, but that'd be the logical way to add that feature.
As far as the questions about 1.6... this is the Steam Beta of CS1.6. That means that the official version remains CS1.5 while this beta test is running, and when the beta testing period is over (likely early February) then the official version changes to CS1.6, there's full normal installs released on the 'net, and CS:CZ is co-released.
And in case it comes up, anybody who wants can be part of the Steam Beta test of CS1.6, and you can have this installed at the same time as your normal CS1.5, so you can connect to either type of server depending on which one you run.
Finally, to those who whine "oh no, it's a tiny bit later than I expected..." get over it. Sheesh, you act like you're still paying VALVe or something, or like they owe you anything. They don't, so stop whining.
Not really new "news" here, but I suppose others might have missed it when this info and more was posted a few weeks back.Comment
