You know what sucks? Playing on a server the night a NEW VAC module is released, and STILL being kicked for suspected hacking. I H8 TEH NOOB ADMIN!ESS! noobs are ok tho, haha. People love to deny that there are skilled players among everyone...



Anyway, I'm convinced that there will always be hackers....but as long as there are lots less than before, I will continue to play happily :)

Being banned and playing on public servers come hand in hand.

Well, of course it's good if this patch works but I'm more considered about the reputation CS has gotten...for example in my school couple of guys simply yell that CS sucks because everyone cheats. They all have one common thing tho', they use Linux. I'm not saying that Linux means you hate CS 'cause I play in clan which 80% of members use Linux only but this still feels kinda weird.

I don't think the cheating war will be won until Joolz and Flautz stop making hacks and/or VAC updates 3x a week. Joolz and Flautz and other hackers will always find away around VAC...the best VALVe can do is prevent little kids from d/l'ing OGC. A true hacker is much different than a casual hacker. btw...if Joolz/Flautz know how VAC blocks the opengl wh...there will be new possibilities to explore...d3d/software mode, who knows



IMO VALVe should work on stopping aimbots somehow...

Some reasons why some people say CS sucks:

» Everyone cheats (not true...especially with the new VAC)

» The engine is old (true...but if you are only looking at graphics in a game then your opinion doesn't matter)

» It gets boring (not true...they obviously haven't played CS much)

» All the servers are full of 12-year-olds (true to some extent...but when you get away from the public servers you find some really nice people)

And yeah, I have found that mainly Linux users hate CS for some reason. I guess they are above the average "Winblows" user because they can enter dozens of obscure commands to perform simple tasks (I know the GUIs are getting better...KDE 3.0 is actually quite nice). I love Linux, but the Linux community needs to take the 75 foot pole out of its ass.

You are correct but with the beta vac and hlguard even those are detected.

hes talking about the public vac not the beta.

CS definitely does get boring every once in a while, at least for me. It just has this nasty habit of making you come back full time after a week of not playing it.

This is true, but I don't play enough to find any good private servers. I only have time for maybe two or three games a month...maybe I'd make more time if it wasn't for the people on the pubs, but oh well.
