The Real Combat League now has a Counter-Strike division. Teams can easily join, and players can sign up here to be recruited by other clans. The Real Combat League is owned an operated by Andy Hodges. The Area 51 Live servers are some of my favorite. Thanks for the news Rollinstone12!

I suppose on every comment thread from now until November, people will be completely ignorant as to the fact that everyone's favorite time of pagan worship is here at the end of October. Pumpkins are orange... not that difficult people, not that difficult at all.
On the subject of the RCL, though... seems like everyone and their dog is starting a CS league these days. Ah well, whatever suits your fancy I guess.Comment

This is one replacement that has a few errors, but still comes out on top.
I think I should start with the model. Its very basic, but then again it looks exactly like a Glock 18. I like how there's a choice if you want to use one with a LAM or not, even though it only takes a few seconds in Milkshape to remove most LAM's. I would love to use it with a LAM, but not in CS. The problem is that the light on them gets dark when you go into a shadow, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a LAM turned on. Some problems with the model though. When you reload, you can see through the model, right in between the slide and the handle. Also, this is a small gripe, but the W model has the slide pulled back. I was always under the impression that if you pulled the slide backwards, it would move back into place when you let go of it. I don't spend much time looking at dropped guns, especially when I'm in a firefight, so once again this is something small that can be fixed. I wasn't too fond of the shield model. I guess it tries to look like one of those bullet proof glass shields, but when in game it looks more like your only holding a frame of a shield, with no glass or anything inside of it. Also about the hand, when you hold the Glock, it goes through the handle on the idle animation. It wasn't hard to spot, but I'm usually not looking at that in game. Its just there, and thats a problem.
The skin is nice too. I don't like the hand texture that much, but I wasn't paying attention to it. What was annoying was that when you pick up a shield, your hand changes. The v_shield_glock18 model and v_glock18 model have different hands, and I would have liked if they both used the same, preferably the CS 1.6 default hands. Some more problems on the shield skin... on the v_shield_glock18 model, there isn't any sign of bullet marks or cracks on the shield or anything like that. Well, on the p_shield_glock18 skin, there are. And to make things worse, the team that made this model forgot to make the bullet marks on it additive. You can fix it in no time in Jed's HLMV, though.
One more problem I should mention, is that there is no muzzle flash on this model. The muzzle flash is on the v_shield_glock18 model, but on the v_glock18 model it isn't. I noticed it almost immediately, and I think it's a pretty big problem. I don't know how to fix this, either.
This model has some problems, most being on the shield models. But, I shouldn't be complaining about those, since I never use it, and its probably going to be taken out of CS 1.6 anyway soon. There are a lot of other quality Glock 18 replacements here... And this is one of them. I wasn't too surprised when I didn't want to take it out and put the Force Compact back into my models folder. This is my new Glock 18, and I suggest everyone here give it a try.Comment
