VALVe's Anti-Cheat has once again been updated with new security modules. These modules, which are automatically downloaded by the server, includes the new wallhack block technology (which we previewed back in July).
Assuming there are no problems, this effectively means the death of wallhacks in CS. That's a big assumption however, as this very feature has been the catalyst for at least one VAC module recall. Wallhacks have been becoming more and more popular as of late; VALVe has ignored blocking a wallhack's code and has instead been focusing on preventing all wallhacks from working. For more information on the wallhack block, check out out original preview (same link as above).[break="full message on valve's server mailing list"]

*** This only affects Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat servers. ***
We've updated the public security modules again. These security modules introduce the wallhack prevention methods we've been working on.
We're interested in hearing about any situations where players are invisible when they shouldn't be. For example, if there's a location on a map where someone can stand without being seen. You can send the details directly to me (mailto:erics@valvesoftware.com).
Your Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat servers should update themselves automatically. Let me know if you have any problems with these security modules and we'll look into them right away.
Thanks.
