Oh come on, you guys... just turn podbot's skill level up to 100, and then it brings back memories of what it used to be like in pubs before VAC.
On a serious note, though, I find podbot to be quite useful for working on my aim, trying to get only headshots in "jason mode" on good rushing maps like de_dust. Not really a ton of fun to play with, but it certainly can help you bring up your aiming skill if you find it lacking.
Biggest downside to podbot is simply that it doesn't react in human ways. The error margin on aiming is consistant in degrees to skill levels. This means that given all the time in the world, a bot still won't line up exactly for a long-distance shot (against a stationary opponent) if their skill level is mediocre, so their sniping becomes useless. But at close range, where 2 degrees one way or the other makes no difference, they're deadly, landing every shot and firing every gun (like pistols) at maximum fire rate. Real players tend to miss a lot of shots at very close range when both players are jumping around each other and such.
Also, as far as turn-rates go, podbots simply turn at a limited (by skill level) rate until they are on target. Real players turn very quickly towards the general area of the enemy, then more slowly turn for exact aim. Typically real players also require a moment to figure out where the enemy is shooting from, as well.
Unfortunately, as easy as most of these edits would be to make... they haven't been made. So, while podbot is cool, it's not what it could be. Pity that it seems all the other bots are even further behind in CS ability from podbot, in my experience.
