too muuuch effort to comment..... the map is about as much fun as watching some old grannie tie her breasts into variously shaped animals for amusement of little children and to make their parents violently sick.



and for those people who didn't get the meaning of what i just rambled on about I can sum it up in one word : Pants.

I don't personally have any problems with dm_, fy_, tr_, st_ maps, as long as they're entertaining. No, they are usually nowhere near as good as a "real" map, but they provide some good shoot-em-up and close quarter combat practice that you don't get as often on the other maps unless you're trying. I don't think anyone suggests that they will ever take the place of the true cs_ and de_ maps, and I suspect you'll never see one as an official map. So why not just take them for what they are--a bit of harmless fun that can actually be turned into good practice if you let it.



By the way, I imagine "fy_" stands for "find your weapon", since you usually start next to a pile of weapons, and you have no buy zone. You have to find the weapon you want on the ground instead of picking the same old weapon every time. The way some people play, I suspect fy_iceworld is the only map they would ever even try to use a TMP or a Mac10 on. Variety = gud. Different maps = variety too. Give 'em a chance.

anyone also could have taken the time to do what i did - contact the mapmakers themselves and ask them what fy meant. i did. pyro, one of the mappers explained that it means "found you" as in: BANG! "found you!" haha.

I really wonder how many of you people actually tried the map out with a full server, rather than either looking at the pictures, or just trying it out on a lan.



Try it out with a lot of people, it gets nutty. Its not your typical dm map. All it is meant for is to take a break from all the bomb defusing and hostage rescuing (like that happens much on public servers anyways) and just have some flying fun with a para in hand and some dualies to boot.



Those who aren't so serious about CS, try it out, i think you will love it. For those who think CS is their life, well then, don't bother.

I must concur Booger. Obviously some people are quick to judge, but slow to actually download, install on server, and try with people. Because if they ever did downlaod it, they would know the difference between this, and a standard DM map. This map is far from standard anything.

A CS pal of mine once ruminated that the way the CS community was going, the future maps would consist of dm_hallway, dm_paperbag, dm_box, and dm_biggerbox. Never did he guess that someone would go 1 step further and incorporate them all into a single map.

But no, CS will always be about objectives. Err at least the standard maps will be. But as long as we have Homelan, Deathmatch will run rampant, and objectives in maps will be meaningless anyways.

If you call deathmatch fun, go play Quake. And by the way, continuous shooting ppl in a map that looks like a piece of shit and has no objectives is more like boring than fun. Fun maps are maps with vehicles or crap like that, eg. cs_destructderby_final2 is a fun map and so is cs_boatseason2c (though I can't possibly understand WHY the maker of boatseason put M4A1s and AKs in the map... the guns make ppl just shoot from the coast and not drive the boats and jetskis :/)
