i believe i mentioned something about the beta stuff being overpowered... this just confirms it. although, it will make aztec a helluva lot more fair to the t's... picture a riot shield guy coming out the DD while his team comes out the door behind him... ownage. then picture a riot shield guy hiding behind the lamp in inferno... even more ownage

you misinterpreted what i was saying.. i meant that i don't like the fact that people who aim at feet get headshots by going automatic and waving their cursor in the persons general direction.



to a lot of people, fully automatic is synonymous with bullshit/newb luck (unless its with a gun that takes skill to actually direct the spray at someone; the colt is not one of these guns)

#37, you can forget about your T tactics with the shield, it's a CT only weapon as far as I know.. Best you can do is try to pick one up from a dead CT and hope you can bring it with you into the next round..



#38, you're right, those kind of kills are usually luck, although some very good players can control their full-auto spray pretty good.. But it's all part of the game, and people should stop whining about it.. What can Valve do? Remove all recoil and make all guns dead accurate? That doesn't sound like fun either, controlling the guns and their recoil/spray in CS is part of the game/challenge.. And in the end someone with better aim and knowledge of how to control the guns will still win 9 out of 10 firefights with someone who just fires & sprays wildly off-target..

If the riot shield completely stops ALL guns (something which 8 ft of concrete can't do in CS), organized CS (CAL, CPL, etc.) will either die or ban it.



As for the galil and famas...Valve just wants to be noticed. If they replace the AK and colt with those things (by replace, I mean that the galil and famas are better guns), they'll get noticed.



CS has been out too long to make changes like these. Adding 2 guns that are supposedly better than the 2 best guns in the game. Adding the invincibility shield. Valve should concentrate on fixing bugs rather than messing up the game.

Oh, and here's why I think the riot shield is bad -

5v5 on prodigy

1 CT with a shield inside button door

2 CTs with shields at top of spawn

2 CTs with shields in the box hall

...if the 5 Ts don't have at least 3 nades between them, they can't do anything except for maybe boosting over the CTs (which is VERY REALISTIC).

Or run around side of them and shoot them? Seeing as if you're holding a shield you cannot fire a weapon. I think it stopping all rifle rounds is pretty rediculous however. Also, the galil is going to pretty useless i think. It cost more then an AK, and fires weaker ammunition. The FAMAS will be interesting because it will give the CTs a cheaper rifle so they can afford one the second round without having to make a kill (as long as they win pistol round). I have a feeling the M4 will remain strong in the ladder half of a clan match.



There are only 3 usefull weapons in counter-strike.

Even if the famas is as good as the M4 in every way, it has 5 less shots. I doupt there is going to be much of a change in how weapons are used in league play. The riot shield is something to keep an eye out for though...

IMHO the shield should be able to take a certian ammount of hits, and then gets discarded automatically because it has become too damaged to use.



Now ok people, lets take a moment and think. Yes the shield can stop rifle rounds, but has valve told us all the details about the shield yet? No. All you are doing is takeing the things just found out and then filling in the cracks with what you think would be stupid. Its been said when you have the shield your legs are visible. Valve isent going to make it so that you can turtle in a corner for the whole round and totally fuck up all the fun of the game. THIS IS NOT A MAGICAL ENCHANTED SHIELD OF COMPLETE INVINCIBILTY ITS JUST A RIOT SHIELD. Its also been said that it slows you down. If your slow you obvisully cant rush anything! You all also seem to be forgetting that you have to peer through that small window while your walking and cant see as much. If your going to make an asumption at least look at all the info about the riot shiled and not just the recient changes.



I have to completely agree with mikej though, its not like even half the weapons in cs are even usefull anyway. Why should they be adding in more when 80% of the guns are already almost useless? Instead of giving up on these weapons they should teak them so that people will actually buy them. Like the para. If it was as expensive as the awp, with a little higher fireing rate, it would see plenty of use. But i guess Valve is just more concerned with hypeing cz instead of fixing up a game that a lot of us already paid money for.
