HLPlayers Metamod Release

HLPlayers is a new Metamod plugin that allows the searching of wonid's and player names. It is like gametiger, but the server must have the plugin installed. The one upside to their service is you can see who has been caught by VAC.

it would kinda suck if very few servers had that plugin, but that probably won't happen.

Actually id be surprised if this thing takes off. Does sound pretty nice, but i just doubt many people will bother installing it.

With "Friends" (tracker) coming out with 1.6 this seems too late.

Yes, from what I see it's just Server Spy or Gametiger with wonid searching added...Seems like more of a hassle than it's worth.

well tbh theres a program called cheaterlog which is a lot better it scans for cheats on the server by serching for their WON ID's against the CS blacklist.

Lots of negative feed here and not seeing the use it can have.

I've been running this mod for a few months under the testing stages and it is useful for server admins or anyone wanting to track some1 down.

I dont use this for finding where some1 is playing but more for a wonid database much like HLSW does but with hlplayers its on all the time and logs any1 that enters your server.



Some1 comes in acting like a real dick by team killing and spamming etc. You just look him up on hlplayers and pow, you find out he is also goes by the name of some clan you just beat or somin like that.

It is more a database of players that join your server. Having more servers join means you get info from them where a player may have used a diff name again.

It will also show if a person is using more than 1 wonid (as long as he use the same name for each ID)

Could help find dual clanners as well.



If your just a player then it may not be of use to you but if you own/rent a server its another tool for admins to track them people that like to mess up the fun.

Saves them from routing through logs.
