Pubs, sadly, are still where 90% (I'm making this number up off the top of my head, but just accept it blindly because it makes sense and works for the argument) of CS players are putting in their time.
Yeah, there's a lot of frustrations that go on in pubs ("You mean we're supposed to guardthe bomb sites...?") and such, but it varies from time to time for me. Sometimes I'll quit in frustration after watching 5 teammates fall behind me to a guy flanking with a P90 before I use 2 usp rounds to remove his head, or realizing that I'm the only person on a 12 man team that's defending a bomb site that's getting rushed every round.
But other times I can find a few guys who haven't become totally disillusioned with pubs, who realize that you've got no damn right to complain about the poor quality of pubs if you don't try to be a model player for others to emulate, and don't run off trying to rack up frags before dying and leaving a site undefended, to our final loss. When I find players on a server that can work together, I try to stick with them round after round, and my experience is a lot better as a result.
Most people who play CS don't have time for serious clans, and serious clan matches. I wish I did, and would love the competition and focus on how the game should be played, but it simply isn't an option with my schedule. So, with that in mind, I've learned to find the good in pubs, and to enjoy the community, even if there are newbies running through it. :)Comment

Im sure I said something lie this earlier?? Pubs DO serve a purpose, iF YOU HAVE SUCH A PROBLEM WITH THEM SET UP YOUR OWN, BE THE ADMIN AND ENFORCE THE RULES! It is that simple. When my server is back up , probably this weekend I shall be awaiting all you 'proper' players to come and make an effort!Comment
