I must give them props for using InterNAP, though. It's the best bandwidth out there (and it's also used by GameDaemons and AoWC).

Griffinrun is very expensive. They charge you so much, that you may as well just rent your own goddamned SDSL Line, and run your own stuff, as well as boost your own internet connection.



I know advertising of other sites isnt really "accepted", but I just feel this is an alternate to people with a lower budget, but still want great reliable service.

never rented servers from any of these guys, but I'm confident that griffenrun does use the highest quality hardware and it appears they got a phat location and world access with their close(direct?) hop to UUnet.

I can understand that you might have some shady competitors who claim to have similar bandwidth and are actually on something lousy like ev1 or Cogent, but in my case I did do my homework . You have orders pending to go into InterNAP Dallas and Seattle (Westin building). (Traceroutes to your test IPs also confirm this.) Further, the information I have gathered tells me that you are going into 1/2 cabinets w/100Mb burstable Ethernet service at those locations. Now, the only difference between the bandwidth you'll be using in Seattle and the bandwidth I use there is that you'll be in the Westin building and I'm in Fisher plaza.

I'm not sure what you mean by saying I got banned. As for your question, I can't tell you the first part for them but the second part is "a lot" . Their prices match up well with what they pay, actually -- InterNAP-quality bandwidth does not come cheap.



I've always had respect for GriffinRUN, and I will continue to have respect for them. Using the highest quality bandwidth and hardware as both of us do makes them some of the cream of the crop.

I've been playing on RUNArena for almost two years now, besides some of the crap-ass politics that goes along with the Counter-Strike demo server, their hardware, speed and some staff is absolutely top notch. The pings in their demo server vary from 20 - 60 for most people, it has zero load times and if cheaters are busted, there's a comitee (Albit shady sometimes) that will review any user demos and add them to blacklists to get them banned from other servers and admins on hand nearly 24/7.



For the longest time, RUNArena was pretty much the only safe place to play when cheating was rampant in Counter-Strike because of all the people watching.



For renting game servers, you get what you pay for. The best. If you guys think it's a ripoff, then you're prolly dispising what you can't have. Which is fine, but there isn't much better out there... if at all. Now that theyre going nationwide, let's just hope people take a great liking to them. It's not just for Counter-Strike, either. They rent game servers for almost any multiplayer third person shooter.

who in the world makes a 10,000 RPM IDE drive?



also useing a 2.8ghz zeon and 2gb of ram is rather overkill for running a server for a game with an engine that came out early in the p2 era.
