The point is, some maps lend themselves better to a 5 vs. 5 competition better than others. Hostage AI makes cs_ maps a poor choice, as does the centralized defense. One-man vulnerability and random spawns make as_ maps a poor choice (though they'd be interesting to watch).



That leaves de_ maps. Out of those, the maps which work the best for this kind of competition have been picked by them. There's leagues where picking any map might work, but the CPL is not one of them.
