Ritual didn't remove anything, it's Gearbox. They own the content they made, and won't give it up to Ritual to use. Hence why CZ is starting from scratch.

But given that they joined this late into the CS:CZ project, chances are they're not going to completely redesign the system to allow for that.
night hawk the new "fall down stairs etc."-animation doesn't mean they will add Karma-physics or anything like it...but you will get static animations doing this
As far as the whole Tony Hawk style gameplay being removed, I don't know what to say, really. Perhaps that style would have been fun, but perhaps it would have felt rather empty, minus the community chatting and such that we're used to being able to do. It's a more trivial approach, with counter-terrorism being a minor issue in the overall goals (such as speed or whatever), as opposed to a storyline, which focuses more on the counter-terrorist concept, and all the possible scenarios for that.
I didn't particularly enjoy the Rainbow 6 series of games, but I really loved the book. If CS:CZ can pull off an experience that's as cool as some of the stuff in that book, then I think it'll be a lot of fun, no matter what graphics are in it. No matter how you look at it, though, the replayability will not be in the SP part of CS:CZ. If you're willing to shell out cash for a SP game that you'll probably only play a few times, then go for it. Fine with MP replayability only, then don't bother, as CS is still free.
I wasn't a fan of the Tony Hawk idea, myself, so returning to the normal SP style seems fine. I'm really disappointed that it wasn't one developer all the way through, however, as honestly CS:CZ will not be as good as it could have been had one developer had all this time to work on it.
