So why does CSN insist on covering the most asinine and worthless news related to clans? It's to create a community of popular clans. Everyone pretends to give a shit about people they don't even know, playing a game that everyone and their mother can download and play on a $100 computer. I sincerly doubt anyone here ACTUALLY cares about the CPL, or specific clans or anything that CSN reports related to them; yet they post here with phony messages of sympathy and talk about them as if they were the sweaty Mexican wrestlers that interest so many more people on these boards.

Maybe if you got a decent webby then you would get decent sponsors. Noone is going to seriously sponsor someone who doesnt give them anything in return. Take mTw as an example. They have amazing content on their page and thousands of unique pageviews a day, and their sponsor is paying for 10 people to fly to dallas.

It wouldn't matter if they DID promote their sponsors. The best any "team" can do at this point is go "Hey, we play at this LAN shop!", which is good if you're trying to get a net response of "Ok. So?". The problem is, no one really cares. The fact about competitive gaming is that, unlike REAL SPORTS, any one of us could do it, which makes gamer endorsements worthless. Sponsorship fails and will continue to fail for the same reason why asking for handouts like this is so ludicrous: the would-be sponsors have zilch to gain from it.

X3 is listed on CPL's Hall of Fame page. I assume that means they won at least once. And way back when I read they won twice. But, also, I couldn't read back then so that may explain it.

Can I add that I feel ever so much more loathing for the fagot professional sports players you retards harp about? Sweet Christ, here are people who win a few grand at a couple of LAN events and you hate them for not having real jobs. Then we have baseball players that want ten million EXTRA dollars, because twenty just isn't enough. Oh, and can we add a clause that says we can collect as much money from promos/advertising as we want?



And just for the record, they don't make all that much money. If you go look at the prize distribution and see how that fat hundred grand is being distributed, and then consider that even for first place it's only six grand per person on a five man team, and then you realize how much it no doubt costs to fly to Dallas from Europe around Christmas...

I think back to an article here a few months back. It made mention of the money from sponsors might some day dry up and that the clans better enjoy it well it last.



My question is did they enjoy it?
