    ifB|Meacham Interview

Ah yes, the daily interview has arrived. Domain of Games' VeNoM has caught up with CAL-I clan in for Blood's Meacham for an in-depth interview. It would appear that ifB will not be attending the CPL. And here is the customary quotation....
DoG^VeNoM: Let me ask you, is ifB going to the Winter CPL this year?

ifB|Meacham: No, we won a qualifier beating tso and some other clans, but we couldn't make it to the colorado lan that we planned on attending. Not having sponsors makes things hard. Also the lan being the weekend after the quali we won in Oregon made it even harder.
Read all about it here, ladies and gents. Thanks to superm0nk for making this not such a slow news day.

I wish I had the time/money/dedication to play CS competitively. Even then, I suck anyways. =\

I think interviews are cool, basically for the same reasons NS gave.

clans like sk get paid to play cs, which means that work = cs.

Not to mention that some of the better players are out of highschool, and are often taking time off from college (or never went in the first place) so they only have to work and play CS in all their spare time, which is quite a lot of time.

Then there's probably the few that still live with their parents and aren't going to school, but just sit around the house all day and play games and in general accomplish nothing with their lives. :)

Bummer for ifB, seems to be a common theme lately.

All these US clans start to make a very pathetic impression on me, not going to the CPL because of money problems.. Sounds like alot of US CS clanplayers are very poor kids without cars & driverlicences.. In Europe we travel from country to country to LANs without any problems, we have money, cars, licences to drive or parents/friends who can take us.. To hard to organize in the US I guess..

                          Just my point of view..

Good Point BigBear... maybe thats why alot of American players are whiny little bitches, and Europeans have a more professional attitude.

Or maybe its because they do not feel that 500-600 dollars to play a game is worth it in the end. Even sponsored teams most of the time do not really MAKE money, it still costs them, and if cs is not your only hobby its not worth it. as for making a rampant generalization about and entire country then from your post id assume that all europeans are arrogant self righteous braggarts. Then again that is the problem with generalization; it is often incorrect.
